Forty-four LEAD Coalition Member and Partner Organizations Urge Congress to Protect Vital Alzheimer’s Disease Programs from the Sequester

Less than one year ago, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued the landmark National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease which included ambitious goals to prevent and effectively treat Alzheimer’s disease by 2025, strengthen the quality of care and expand support for people with Alzheimer’s disease and their families, and enhance public awareness and engagement about the devastating consequences of this disease. Sequestration would put in jeopardy those goals and tens of millions of Americans counting on progress against the devastating condition. LEAD is rallying a diverse and growing national coalition insisting that Congress do more, not less, to stand up for Americans facing Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
