National Task Group on Intellectual Disabilities & Dementia Practices

The ‘NTG’ is a coalition of interested persons, practitioners, academics, and organizations working toward ensuring that the needs and interests of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia – as well as their families and friends – are taken into account as part of the National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease.  The ‘NTG’ has produced a national action plan for addressing dementia in adults with intellectual disabilities, issued practice guidelines for community care, medical evaluations, and health advocacy, developed an early detection screening instrument, and offers public and professional education webinars and workshops.  See http://www.aadmd.org/ntg
