The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR)

The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) is devoted to helping people live longer, healthier lives.  Since 1981, AFAR has played a major role in advancing knowledge of aging by providing grants to scientists, physicians, and students conducting aging-related research.  These investigators are committed to understanding the basis mechanisms of aging, and finding the causes, cures, and treatments of many age-related diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.  AFAR is committed to nurturing the talent and brainpower in aging research and geriatric medicine to ensure the health of millions of older people.
