Advisory Council Inching Toward Approval of Historic National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease – Releases Second to Last Draft

This evening, the US Department of Health and Human Services released the second draft of the National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease (PDF available here). A sightly edited version will be available on Monday. LEAD members submitted a comprehensive set of comments and recommendations to both this and the previous draft, and will be reviewing this latest version to determine the degree to which our comments and recommendations have been incorporated.

As of March 30, more than 3,700 comments had been received by the Advisory Council, an indication of the strong interest throughout the Alzheimer’s-serving community in ensuring the most effective plan possible. The Advisory Council will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, April 17th, at which the plan will be debated further. The final National plan is expected to be released in May.
