As Secretary Sebelius and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services work toward the mid-May release of the first annual National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease, on April 17th the public Advisory Council on Research, Care and Services unanimously approved and submitted a comprehensive set of 36 recommendations to improve Alzheimer’s research, care and services. LEAD’s co-conveners, Eric J. Hall and George Vradenburg, serve on the Advisory Council and many LEAD member organizations have been instrumental in ensuring that the recommendations are achievable, inclusive, evidence-based and accountable to President Obama’s transformational goal to prevent or effectively treat Alzheimer’s disease by 2025.
